It does have power steering and automatic transmission, so all sweet with the technical requirements. Instead of 10-11L/100km as the Subaru used to, this car uses about 12-17L/100km for the urban / freeway mix that I usually drive. The Dodge’s motor has something they call MDS multiple displacement system, so it switches off 4 cylinders to save gas.

How to put my phone in, so I could still use it with my (left) hand, that was the real question. The Proclip USA site contains (non-fitting) Chrysler 300C parts – and it contains stuff for the Dodge’s middle console. But no cool A-pillar mount. So I tried something else.

The highly recommendable phone mounts for cars of Proclip USA are sold as two parts – a car mount bit, and a phone mount bit. The car phone bit of this phone mount was the left (A-pillar) dashboard mount of the Subaru Impreza 1,5L 2010 model year of Proclip USA, that – to my surprise – fit the Dodge perfectly – it just snapped on. The phone mount bit was my old Lumia 920 mount that I butchered with metal hole strips to accomodate for the Lumia 1520 seeing as if the Micro USB plug was still the same. I added a few plastic and rubber covers to protect the phone.

Both cables – a 3,5mm audio connector for the car’s AUX plug and the 12V recharger wire – were routed underneath the steering wheel, and I just fixed the tube using two clamps.

The audio cable passes through a sheath current filter or ground loop isolator (Mantelstrom-Filter) to reduce humming.
