I ride my bike with limited right sided support (no support if I don’t wear the prosthesis). In essence I need adaptation for one handed bicycle control, for one handed bicycle braking and for one handed gear switching \/ control (in my instance, left handed). Because of that, I need good brake control.<\/p>\n

This is the first in a series of posts related to bikes<\/a> and biking<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The brake lever (AVID) was chosen because the lever can be tuned to work over a short or long lever distance. For me, the brake lever was adjusted to travel a long way until the brakes are fully closed. That allows me to very finely dose braking power.<\/p>\n

I purchased a brake cable force distributor that allows me to pull one lever \/ cable and to have both front and back brake pull at once. The manufacturer was SBM INNOVATION.<\/p>\n

My bicycle modifications were installed by the tech wiz bike shop CYCLE SHARK<\/a> in Zuerich. They took time and knowhow and could have taken this even further.<\/p>\n\n
