No modifications of bicycle, handlebar or prosthetic arm necessary whatsoever.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>I wear it to ride my <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/?p=1733\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Gerber race bike<\/a>, the first animated image also shows the fluency of the handle bar grab with the socket mounted camera:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/grip5prehensorbikeriding.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7120\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/grip5prehensorbikeriding.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/grip5prehensorbikeriding2.gif\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-7121\" src=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/grip5prehensorbikeriding2.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"100%\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It stands out against the bike handlebar specific adapters <a href=\"http:\/\/www.swisswuff.ch\/tech\/?p=5867\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Freelock <\/a>and Mert hand:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>it closes very comfortably but also extremely firmly (with up to 25 kg closing force easily)<\/li>\n<li>it closes as long as I make my back round, lean back or extend the elbow, or all \/ any of these<\/li>\n<li>but it lets go as soon as I change position so it seems to be far safer than any of these bike specific adapters<\/li>\n<li>it remains as useful off the bike &#8211; so to go eating out, going for a drink, or using a tool, drinking bottle or whatnot while on the way, is easy (not like with the specific bike adapters)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Have not tried it for longer distances or difficult rides yet.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"twitter-share\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?via=swisswuff\" class=\"twitter-share-button\" data-size=\"large\">Tweet<\/a><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I use the voluntary closing (VC) Grip 5 Evolution Prehensor by TRS on my body powered prosthetic arm &#8211; the terminal device that Bob Radocy used when winning both heat and final of the Cybathlon prosthetic arm race &#8211; for a first bike ride.
