Sun Jifa, 51, built a bomb for blast fishing when it exploded prematurely eight years ago. He lost his hands but could not afford the hospital’s prosthetic hands they were offering at the time.<\/p>\n
Using scrap metal and other available parts, he built his own prosthetic arms. They contain pulley and wires inside the shell, and he controls them with his elbows. As the material is largely metal, weight and temperature conductivity (heat, cold) are problems. Apparently he stated that each hand weighs around 0,9 kg.<\/p>\n
