As it appears, people get aggravated over the start/stop function or start/stop automatic of the current Subaru models. I can only address this from my own Subaru Outback (2018) use.
There, one can read the manual to find out what the start/stop automatic requires to function. From my view, that is not awfully hard to accomplish.
Thereby, the start/stop function does not work, as it is disabled:
- when the fan is set to blow air both to windshield and foot area
- when the brake pedal is not pushed all the way to the floor
So I just set the ventilation to the windshield/foot area and the start/stop never shuts off the engine. When I want to use the start/stop generally but not in a given situation, I just do not push the brake pedal down all the way.
