We recently encountered in our Android 12 mobile phone (Huawei P20) a lack of transmission of several mail clients’  IMAP messages, in that all showed head, but, no mail body.

Several different client apps, including GMail, Web.de and Outlook, were affected.

First I tried the usual, web tips. Stop client, clearing cache, start client, no success (link).

Secondly, clearing all app data and cache, and starting with a fresh login, didn’t work either.

Then we found that the problem started a day ago. Checking app updates/installations, we identified an “Android System WebView” that was installed or updated on Sep 27, 2023.

I deleted it.

Then, the mails worked.

Seems like that’s not a generally new problem of that software component.
