General conditions
All content of this website is specifically not allowed to be stored, reproduced, used, printed, or redistributed elsewhere without explicit prior consent of the respective copyright holder.
All information here (which includes images and text) that are provided by me are copyrighted and thus there is no right for anyone to store them, print them, use them, publish them or use them in any other way for further processing, archiving or reproduction in any way thinkable unless prior explicit written consent has been obtained.
So: if you write a thesis, or diploma works, or whatever else it is you write, and if you are after snatching my pictures here: don’t. Ask for written permission first. Also, I expect proper referencing of cited materials and content. Technical hotlinking is not an acceptable practice.
Who comes here?
Then, Youtube tells us about user demographics of video content.
So the relative count of female visitors surfing here is about 10% and men comprise around 90%, on an average, the registered visitors tend to be middle aged people.
The visitor count for the 93 most viewed articles as evaluated in July 2021 is significantly higher for posts with a voyeuristic component (median: 10431 visits) than articles without such connotation (median: 7458 visits) (Wilcoxon p = 0.0053) (own subjective criteria).
Purpose
This website focuses on increasing the understanding and improvement of technical right below elbow amputee issues. It relies on close observation, it relies on personal experience, it relies on networking, and it also relies on Gonzo-style reporting in order to convey user/amputee centered accuracy.
Intended usage
This website is for visitors to visit and to read its content as is.
If they want to refer to the content, there are links at the bottom of each blog post or article detailing how to cite that post or article.
Any other usage falls outside the intended usage and is not covered by GDPR / data protection. Not intended use also contains the unauthorized download of material from or hotlinking any content of this website, and it also contains any attempts to gain access to the backend; however, this is not a complete list of unintended use.
Data handling (GDPR / data protection)
This website does not allow for user accounts, log-in or user posting.
With that, it does not routinely / automatically collect data that is associated to any particular person other than the administrator. As a consequence, it is not possible to match visitor data to a particular person other than the administrator, unless a visitor decides to hack this site using their real name, which, however, is not an activity intended.
This site does collect visitor data (browser, IP, visited page, time, date), however, without link to a person, with the intention of content and performance analysis (SlimStat, Google Analytics) and for web security as part of data breach procedure (Google Analytics, Project Honey Pot, Bot Blocker). This also pertains to cookies that are stored whereas any user may browse this site without use of cookies at their own behest and following their own browser settings. No other automatic processing is performed with that data. The data is automatically deleted after an interval. It is not available publically. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If any person wishes to have details of their visit trail looked at closely, extracted for revision, or removed from the log, please contact me directly to discuss further proceedings.
As data breach procedure, this website logs hacker attempts, which means it logs the details of visits where it appears there is an attempt to try to gain unauthorized access.
If any person wishes to discuss their hacker attempt, and have their hacker attempt data storage reviewed, and possibly removed, please contact me to discuss further proceedings. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you ever you manage to upload images to the website, you most likely successfully hacked it.
According to GDPR/data protection provisions, you still might wish to avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) or your real name or a name leading to your identity included. Otherwise, visitors to the website, including the administrator, may be able to download and extract any location data from images on the website.
The stored visitor data is used on a regular basis to check for usage patterns and to improve content in relation to that.
As example, if keyword searches fail to reach the relevant blog post, then the apparent mismatch may be used to revise the blog post content to better match frequent search words.
More importantly, the visitor data is used for website security purposes.
Visitors have the option to leave comments for certain posts.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. The comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. If a visitor requires to have their comment anonymized or deleted, please contact me to discuss further proceedings. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. If you wish to have a comment deleted, contact me directly.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture may be visible to the public in the context of your comment.
