Until we can all be and live as Cyborgs, transhumanist or otherwise freely functional people of this earth, also Reddit and such communities will have to learn that it is NOT cool to call disabled people “gore.”
They just did that though.
The term they used is clearly visible here: the statement reads “READ THE RULES. No Screenshots! Warning: 7 day ban for violation!; No gore allowed – Please read rule 10”.
There seems to be a difficulty of the other side, such as here, to accept that we may not be the prettiest – but not just that but still people.
While we might be able to argue that some people have a different look than others, just equating the visual appearance to “gore” exposes a mindset that in itself is gore. The ban of an image of an amputee is verbally explained, here, by using the term “no gore allowed.” This does not sit well. This is past discrimination, discriminating, discriminatory. It is past impolite or derogatory. This is very clearly tasteless, and fully confrontational.
As things are, it is probably not possible to excuse this.
